Alongside it, the AXELIOS 1 sequencing platform, powered by sequencing by expansion (SBX) technology, aims to make genomics research faster and more affordable by compressing sequencing time from days to hours. Supporting automation across the core lab includes the cobas pro integrated solution, delivering up to 4,400 tests per hour, and the compact cobas pure solution built for low- to mid-volume laboratories, both designed to streamline workflows and simplify inventory management across laboratory networks.
AI and Digital Pathology: Tackling Labor Shortages Through Intelligent Automation
Roche is demonstrating how intelligent automation and AI-enabled diagnostics can meaningfully reduce manual touchpoints in pathology labs. The VENTANA DP 600 slide scanner, paired with navify Digital Pathology software, showcases how cloud-based viewing and Laboratory Information System connectivity can streamline pathologist workflows, while the BenchMark ULTRA PLUS system automates slide-staining for immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization to improve turnaround times. Complementing these tools, the navify Digital Solutions portfolio, including navify Lab Operations, Analytics, and Quality Suite, turns complex lab data into actionable insights through proactive issue detection and workload prediction, with an upcoming navify Algo Suite designed to integrate Roche and partner clinical algorithms directly into existing EMR systems.

Beyond lab automation, Roche is highlighting its Elecsys Phospho-Tau (181P) blood-based biomarker test, the only blood test FDA-cleared for use in primary-care settings to help rule out Alzheimer’s disease-associated amyloid pathology in adults aged 55 and older presenting with cognitive decline symptoms, representing a meaningful step toward earlier, more accessible clinical insight. The company is also expanding its point-of-care ecosystem with tools like the cobas liat system, delivering PCR-quality results in 20 minutes or less for respiratory and STI pathogens, and the CoaguChek XS Plus system for precise anticoagulation monitoring, reinforcing Roche’s commitment to bringing high-precision diagnostics closer to the point of patient care.
