GENEVA, Dec. 8, 2025 — Geneva has officially inaugurated its first artificial intelligence health hub at Campus Biotech, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of AI-driven healthcare, research, and neurotechnology in Western Switzerland. The new AI Hub was formally launched on December 4, 2025, and is designed to accelerate the translation of artificial intelligence research into real-world clinical applications, with a particular focus on neurological and psychiatric conditions.
The AI Hub is operated by Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) in partnership with the Wyss Center, with the support of the Canton of Geneva’s Department of Health and Mobilities. Located at the entrance of Campus Biotech and spanning approximately 1,000 square meters, the hub brings together clinicians, researchers, and AI specialists in a shared environment dedicated to transforming diagnostics, patient care, and neurotechnology through artificial intelligence.
The hub is structured around four strategic missions: patient care and clinical consultations, translational research, integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare operations, and education and community engagement. Clinical teams from HUG will provide specialized consultations in areas including brain and mental health, epilepsy, stroke, depression, and sleep disorders. Patients will also gain access to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, including opportunities to participate in innovative clinical trials.
On the research front, the Wyss Center will lead AI-guided neuromodulation initiatives and support the development of neurotechnology start-ups. Among these is dEEGtal, a company developing artificial intelligence–based tools to improve epilepsy diagnosis and monitoring.
Beyond clinical care and research, the AI Hub will play a key role in integrating artificial intelligence into hospital operations. Initiatives will focus on improving patient pathways, enhancing administrative efficiency, strengthening prevention strategies, and advancing digital health solutions. The hub will also host training programs and public events to address the ethical, social, and scientific implications of artificial intelligence in healthcare, reinforcing its commitment to responsible and inclusive innovation.
With the launch of the AI Hub at Campus Biotech, Geneva strengthens its position as a leading international center for health innovation, fostering collaboration across healthcare institutions, academia, technology partners, and society to shape the future of AI-enabled medicine.
