NVIDIA and GE HealthCare Join Forces to Accelerate Autonomous Medical Imaging with Physical AI

GTC, Santa Clara, CA — NVIDIA and GE HealthCare today announced a strategic collaboration to develop autonomous diagnostic imaging systems, leveraging the newly launched NVIDIA Isaac™ for Healthcare — a medical device simulation platform designed to fast-track the development and deployment of robotics and AI-powered imaging technologies.

This partnership marks a significant leap in the evolution of autonomous X-ray and ultrasound systems, supporting the growing global demand for diagnostic services amid clinical staffing shortages and increasing patient loads.

Expanding Access with AI-Powered Imaging

Currently, an estimated two-thirds of the world’s population lacks access to basic medical imaging. By combining robotics, AI, and digital simulation, the collaboration aims to make high-quality diagnostic imaging more widely available — particularly in underserved areas.

The Isaac for Healthcare platform is powered by NVIDIA’s three foundational robotics computing technologies — DGX™, Omniverse™, and Holoscan — and includes pre-trained models, vision and language processing, and digital twins for medical environments.

  • Real-time deployment via NVIDIA Holoscan for edge AI-powered decision-making
